b*evolved is expanding a Global Community of Lifestyle Advocates for Sustainable Living. Core to this vision, b*evolved is developing an Eco-Island Resort and Sustainable Lifestyle Education Center, a first of its kind living environment that will serve as an interactive learning model of sustainability that can host corporate retreats, provide a unique learning/vacation experience for tourists, and serve as a gathering place for scientists, researchers and environmental change-makers from around the world.
On Saturday May 14th b*lab hosted the very first Sensual Social presented by its parent company b*evolved. About twelve to fifteen entrepreneurs, musicians, spiritual healers, aspiring chefs and bakers gathered in the majestic Hollywood Hills for a revitalizing experience of the senses. The view alone was a breath-taking experience and contributed to the “sight” aspect of the Sensual Social.

The Social was the brainchild of b*evolved founder Julie Bartleson who birthed the idea of creating an event to showcase talented entrepreneurs and provide a network of support for their businesses and projects. That idea was integrated with creating a journey and experience for the five senses.
The intention of the event was to awaken the sensual self and that all attendees gain knowledge and partake in actions to sustain and balance their own lives and the lives of others. In other words, people and businesses coming together to work and share ideas to forward movement and prosperously sustain a global community.
Guests walked into a beautiful guitar serenade, which helped relax and open the atmosphere for social interaction. It helped set the initial mood for the day and contributed to the “sound” aspect of the Sensual Social.

We introduced ourselves, shared our business ventures and talked about our common interests. We shared the reason why we had all come together and how we’re all connected.

Jenn Tamera, the owner of Breathe Bodyworks and creator of Soul Space, led the group through a twenty-minute unique, personally designed yoga work-out to relieve stress and tension called Isagaya Flow. It is the combination of two words from the Philippine Tagalog language, “ISA” meaning “one” and “GAYA” meaning “reflecting.”
The key to the technique is getting in touch with the body and becoming more in tune with your own energy. In the exploration, we discover the physical and energetic tensions we have been retaining and gain the skills on how to release that tension.
The workout incorporates yoga with two baseball sized balls in a sac that, when placed on certain parts of the body, work with the pressure points in the body. The balls put pressure on different parts of the body and then release tension.

After the initial jokes about playing with balls in a sac were out of the way. We enjoyed a truly relaxing experience for our body, complete with aromatherapy, that contributed to the “touch” and “smell” aspects of the Sensual Social.
Once we were all limbered up and relaxed, we moved on to the food-portion of the event.

Aspiring chef and Le Cordon Bleu student Kim Grimmett cooked up one of the most unique dining experiences for the taste buds. Her blend of unconventional ingredients made normally boring dishes into an explosion for the senses.

Truly talented and equally hard-working, Kim created the most talked-about part of the whole experience with her goat cheese balls, avocado mousse and Tequila chicken. Naturally, as a lightweight, I got a little drunk off the chicken and missed some of the conversation at my table. However, I quickly sobered up for the desert portion of the meal.
Rachael Tenerowicz, creator of Midnight Sweets, provided the sweets for the desert portion of the meal.

The rest of the day was spent talking, sharing, laughing and relating.

We even have a few impromptu musical performances…

It was a productive and successful event. It is also in the works to become a monthly occurrence, providing a forum for talented and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to further expand their business ideas and concepts amongst a group of creatives. A safe space where each guests can get support, feedback and the opportunity for networking that will create powerful relationships in offering unlimited opportunity for life to prosper in the world.
